Something is ‘out’..

Today I am reflecting on self, what is in my control and what is not….

Life is delivering a never ending sequence of feedback and responses to us by parents, partners, friends, family, colleagues…

Almost none of them are actually helpful when it comes to supporting balanced confidence and resilience.

Stopping and reflecting for a moment, I am feeling confident that this will resonate with you.

Because you are a living breathing human being like me, we are all being conditioned by our environments to develop a story about ourselves…. often not really a useful one..!

In so many cases this internal story (how we see ourselves) is involved with automatic trigger reactions, emotional pressure points being pushed.

These trigger reactions are often responses we have developed over the years, and to some degree they have been helpful and even kept us safe.

Until they don’t anymore………!

What does it take to recognize our internal story, and what is emerging when we start seeing it with fresh eyes?

My suggestion is that it begins with a realization that a change is due, it can be in relationships - internal mental health in general - issues at work…

Something is out, and you haven’t really got any idea what is really going on…..

Unfortunately so many have got no other strategy to mute or suppress this experience, but alcohol, drugs, gaming, shopping, any addictive behavior which helps numbing and taking the edge of this uneasy feeling… If talking at all, it often is in despair and not in any really useful ways…

The idea of exploring what is REALLY going on is often not even on the radar……

Who do you know that finds themselves in this space, how do you see it?

I would love to hear from YOU!
